The History of the Silver Ring Thing
The Silver Ring Thing is the fastest growing teen abstinence program in the United States and is rapidly gaining international recognition for its concert-style show incorporating music, laser lights, fast-paced video, drama & comedy performances. Through this program teens are able to understand that abstinence until marriage is not only God's plan for their lives, but also the best and only way to avoid the harmful physical and emotional effects of premarital sex. By offering a message of forgiveness and new beginnings the program reaches out to those teens that have become sexually active & offers an opportunity to embrace a "second virginity."

The Silver Ring Thing program was created in 1996 by Denny and Amy Pattyn as a response to the escalating numbers of teen pregnancies in Yuma, Arizona, and was moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 2000. The Silver Ring Thing leadership recognizes that the distribution of condoms or the practice of "safe-sex" will not ensure protection from the physical, emotional and spiritual problems resulting from sexual activity among teens. The only way to reverse the moral decay of any youth culture is to inspire a change in the conduct and behavior from those within the culture. Therefore, the Silver Ring Thing has developed a roll-out plan to help create a culture shift that will reach 20% of the student population and has introduced the SRT 434 programs to aid in the national and international spread and understanding of the message of abstinence.

Silver Ring Thing Rollout Plan
Silver Ring Thing's National Rollout Plan has been designed to reach 20% of America's youth with a faith based abstinence message using both a Live Event and the packaged SRT 434 Program for Youth Groups.  Silver Ring Thing has also created an international program in response to world-wide interest.
