My favorite day of the year is right around the corner. Soon tables all over the place will be filled with a huge creature of gobbling goodness along with glorious dress ing and pies that would make a diabetic pass out just looking at them.
That’s right, THANKSGIVING. The Pilgrims ate some turkey with some Indians and BAM! I get the best Holiday known to man
It’s actually a lot bigger than that:
In the fall of 1621, the Pilgrims had been in America less than a year. During those months, over half their original population died from disease or starvation. The Pilgrims hosted the first feast to celebrate life with their Indian friends and give thanks to God for His provision in difficult circumstances.
Over half of their original population died!! With that being said, MAN! I’ve got so much to be thankful to God for. I have a great job, great friends, I'm in good health, and the list goes on and on.
Psalm 107:1
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever."
-
God's love for us is faithful and it endures (lasts) forever
That’s reason enough to be thankful!!
-
Give thanks because Christ died on a cross in our place
-
Give thanks because you have life (you could be dead)
-
Give thanks because you have ability to read (c'mon your reading this)

We all come from different backgrounds and have different stories, but if you think about it we all have reasons to be thankful.
This Thanksgiving, before you grub so much that your pants don't fit take a moment and thank God for all the blessings he has put into your life.
PRE-Turkey Checklist
1. Thank God for sending his son Jesus to pay for our sins and thank him for all the blessings in your life
2. Thank your family, friends, pastors, or anyone else in your life that has been a blessing
3. Do what you can to bless someone else's life that might be less fortunate than you. (Volunteer at a shelter/soup kitchen; donate old clothes, toys, shoes, etc. to a local charity)
