Wow, Thanksgiving is tomorrow! If you’re like many other Americans, your brain is zeroed in on some turkey, stuffing, football and shopping (those last two seem to blend together on Black Friday). On the last Thursday of November, families, friends and neighbors will gather together to be especially thankful for…for…for…

What are we supposed to be thankful for again? New gadgets? A cool car? The last weeks of school? Time off of work? Super sweet deals? Wait, wait, I’ve got it. What if this Thanksgiving, on top of health, family and Christ’s love, we thank Him for giving us exactly what we need. 

Dave Barnes’ song “What I Need” says, “You give me what I need. Even on my brightest day, even in a hurricane. Even when there’s way too much, even when I’m down to dust.” Big thought! What the Lord gives us is EXACTLY what we need.

If you have a little or a lot, remember, it’s just stuff. But with Christ, you have MORE THAN ENOUGH. Christ has no expiration date. His contents never change. He will never die or leave you. There is no end to His love for you.

So, give thanks! Enjoy your time with family, friends, serving others or wherever you find yourself this holiday. But wherever you are in life, remember His promise. God will give you exactly what you need.
