Romans 5:4-5 NLT

"And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love."

This journey to live the life God called us to live can get tiresome.  Especially when we look around and see the way "everybody else" is living.

Before we go any further lets take a look at a few of the words in this passage:

Endurance:
    1.    the act of enduring
    2.    the power of enduring; specif.,
    3.    ability to last, continue, or remain
    4.    ability to stand pain, distress, fatigue, etc.; fortitude
    5.    duration
    6.    Rare that which is endured; hardship

Character:
    1. Moral Quality; the principles and motives that control the life;

Hope:
    1.    a feeling that what is wanted is likely to happen; desire accompanied by
           expectation

    2.    the thing that one has a hope for
    3.    a reason for hope
    4.    a person or thing on which one may base some hope
    5.    Archaic trust; reliance

So what the bible is telling us is if we can find the ability to last, continue, or remain, that we will develop the moral qualities and principles that will help us control ourselves because we expect God to bring us the right person and we will one day be married.

He's given us his Holy Spirit to help us control our bodies so we can please God.

As it gets tough, use those times as opportunities to trust God because he loves you and wants to build your endurance so that you can develop Godly character as you wait on the husband or wife GOD has waiting for you.
